VIVEKNANDA KENDRA ZILLA PARISHAD VIDYALAYA BASANTIPUR REPORT ON CELEBRATION OF GURU PURNIMA 2021. Date : 23rd July 2021 As per the kendra traditions the celebration started with the chanting of three omkaras and Sahana Bhawatu. The head of the institution inaugurated the programme with the enlightment of the traditional lamp. All the teaching and non- teaching staff of the institution offered flowers to the universal omkara. The programme was smoothly conducted by Vaikunth Rao sir. The programme started to unfold with the chanting of the melodious "Tasmaye shri guru ve namaha" by various teachers of the institution. A speech was presented by Sidhartha Ejerder sir explaining about the significance of Guru Purnima and how we teachers should take pledge about continuing the " Guru- shishya paramapara", also transmitting and protecting knowledge of Vedas to our future generations of the society. The speech also highlighted the biography of Sage Vyasa, and about his commitment towards protecting, archiving and transmitting the knowledge of Vedas to the future generations and reestabilishing moral values in the society. Some other melodious Bhajans like - " Paa liye hamne sat guru charanam" , "Guru mat- pita guru bandhu Sakaha" are beautifully chanted by the teachers of our institution. The Programme concludes with the Vote of Thanks and Shanti Path.
